GOP plans to prohibit the adoption
The leader of the majority Republican Senate, Georgia, said this week that some colleagues are on a legislative proposal to ban gay adoptions by a constitutional amendment which would go before voters in November 2006.State Sen. Tommie Williams (R-Lyons) said in an e-mail interview that, if the legislation of the General Assembly shall meet once in January, the public is likely that the amendment back on the overwhelming support for 2004, Amendment 1, the value added of a ban on homosexual marriage in the State Constitution.
“Some of our members have mentioned the ban on homosexual adoption,” said Williams.
